Nominated by the Voice & Opera department to be the 2012-13 and 2013-2014 Warfield Scholarship recipient, Joel Dyson was a sophomore voice performance major. She was also a student of Robert McIver. Joel was born and raised in New Orleans and attended Xavier University Preparatory High School. Her early training was at NOCCA (New Orleans Center for Creative Arts). Joel’s high school experience included performances at NOCCA, the Walnut Hill Summer Opera Program, Kennedy Center (Millennium Stage), Washington National Opera Institute, and the Classical Singer Vocal Competition (regional finalist).
